Papers : of the Boyd family, 1868-1921 [manuscript].

The Boyd family correspondence, 1868-1921, consists chiefly of bills and receipts, and letters, 1891-94, from Stephen D. Boyd to his son at Randolph-Macon College. The elder Boyd writes about the cattle business, his store, the family, and the Methodist revivals around Leesburg, Va. Of interest are a group of 1921 letters on the building of the Lee highway. Boyd records his daily activities and reflects continually on religion, drawing moral lessons from the events of the day.
